Friendships Plugged-In!

It can be easy to feel disconnected. Let's focus on building up friendships, and being intentional about getting plugged in to the community around us!

Between October 7-18, you can win prizes for doing the things that build up healthy friendships! Check out this list of "challenges" and get a challenge tracker from the CHR Office or from your ResLife Team to get started!

At the CHR, we offer confidential conversations to help process relationship or other life issues. Stop by our office whenever the doors are open and ask Gail at the front desk to speak with someone, or reach out to schedule a time to meet with someone on our team.

This class will help students understand how to spot warning signs in relationships, both romantic and platonic, and recover with healthier patterns of communication. This presentation also discusses manipulation and consent.

This class will equip students with an awareness of what the process of change can look and feel like in our lives-as change is always happening. Students will be walked through the change process, and will have the opportunity to gain insights into how this awareness can help them prepare, weather, and recover from change and its impacts on us all and our relationships through the lifespan.

This class will equip students with an awareness of the warning signs of burnout, the ability to create an inventory of recovery factors and steps for when burnout does happen, and an understanding of the role the resilience derived from within and from our relationships can play in combatting burnout.

This class will equip students with an understanding of the practice and development of emotional intelligence, or the ability to understand and manage one's own emotions, as well as recognize and influence the emotions of those around you in order to build healthy relationships.

This class focuses on intergenerational relationships, including the various perspectives found among different generations and how to engage in healthy community, workplaces and families.

This presentation covers the basics of healthy conflict resolution, including default responses to conflict, as well as steps to productive communication.

This class will equip students with an understanding of what building and maintaining healthy relationship with someone of the opposite sex can look like. Students will learn how to identify what they are hoping for out of their relationships, what healthy boundaries can look like, and how to communicate well with others-especially in the context of cross-gender friendships.

This class explores how our expectations shape the way we show up to an experience, like college, and discusses characteristics of a growth mindset. It will help students reflect on their own mindset and attitudes towards growth and encourage an increased capacity to be challenged.
